Lyndon Baines Johnson, also known as LBJ, was born on August 27, 1908 at Stonewall, Texas. He was the first child of Sam Ealy Johnson, Jr., and Rebekah Baines Johnson, and had three sisters and a brother: Rebekah, Josefa, Sam Houston, and Lucia. In 1913, the Johnson family moved to nearby Johnson City, named for Lyndon''s forebears, and Lyndon entered first grade. On May 24, 1924 he graduated from Johnson City High School. Ray Osrin was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 5, 1928. He studied at the Art Students League 1945-1947 and worked as a freelance comic book illustrator, television animator and ghost artist for several comic strips from 1945-1957. He then became staff artist for the Pittsburgh Press 1958-63. In 1963 he became staff artist at the Cleveland Plain Dealer and three years later he was named the paper's editorial cartoonist.
